The EIT data recorders support SMS text messaging to alert of alarm conditions. You can program the EIT recorder to activate on up to 10 separate alarm conditions. These alarm conditions may be any analogue input signal into the data recorder. The alarms can be associated with up to 100 channels in the R tech 100 series data recorder. Analogue input signals include , but are not limited to temperature, wind, relative humidity, pump flow, soil moisture, leaf wetness, rainfall, water height, etc. Data collected by the recorder over an EIT telemetry network can also be associated with alarm conditions. This means the EIT recorder can watch over your enterprise via EIT telemetry.

In order to operate the EIT data recorder must be supplied / fitted with a GSM modem. Once an alarm condition is met then the recorder will initiate an SMS message to you nominated GSM phone. The message you receive is user defined. Thus you can receive a message such as

" EIT alarm alert - low temperature below 1 Deg C at site 1"

" EIT alarm alert - low soil moisture at 10 cm depth at site 2"

" EIT alarm alert - high soil salinity at site 3 at 80 cm depth "
