EIT designed and installed
weather monitoring equipment for the Sydney Harbour Bridge, BridgeClimb
tour (www.bridgeclimb.com). Weather monitoring sensors are located at the
very top of the bridge approximately 130 meters above the water. Information
is transmitted via radio modem to BridgeClimb Base station control desk
at 10 second intervals. |
 |
The weather monitoring system
comprises EIT wind speed and direction sensors, and sensors for monitoring
temperature and humidity. Each sensor is calibrated to provide a linear
0-1 Voltage output for the measuring range of the sensor. |
 |
Information on the PC screen
at operation headquarters is updated at 10 second intervals and includes
current temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, average wind speed
for the last hour, wind chill factor, Beaufort wind description, daily
maximum wind speed plus trends of temperature, humidity and wind speed. |
 |
Weather data from the base
station receiving radio modem is fed into a PC via the serial communication
port and data displayed using the CI Technologies SCADA software ( www.cit.com.au) |
