| EIT data recorders and weather stations
can be accessed via the Iridium network of communication satellites. This
means you can view real time data, and upload information from a remote
site no matter where on earth your system is located.
Iridium is a constellation of sixty
- six, low ( 700 kms ) earth orbiting satellites which provide voice,
fax, data, SMS and other services.
EIT can provide data recorders supplied
with Motorola L Band Data Modems for communication from a PC. Communication
to a EIT data recorder is simple using the EIT data recorder software. |
 |
There are two ways to connect to
and EIT data recorder using the Iridium network
1. Simply dial out from your PC through
a standard terrestrial gateway
2. Direct via L - band modem attached
to PC
(Under development August 26th,
2003)
EIT will shortly offer direct data
communication from PC to data recorder. This systems operates by
placing L band satellite modems at both the PC end and the data recorder
end in the field.
This approach may be more economical
in systems with multiple field sites.
