| An EIT weather station is
used to monitor and compute evaporation at 5 minute intervals. This information
is imported to a SCADA system developed using Ci Technologies CITECT software.
A central PC communicates with the weather station via Modbus protocol
and maintains agronomic and irrigation databases for the automatic scheduling
of irrigation activities for 10 separate irrigation areas. The central
PC controls irrigation solenoids via an Omron Programmable logic controller
(PLC).
The SCADA system also monitors irrigation
line flow and pump operation and provides warning and automatic shutdown
functions. |
